A new year has begun.
The twelvemonth of 2023 is over. In many, very obvious ways, it was a strife-ful year. Yet again. Some of its lessons were harsh, some of its joys tainted, but there was joy, and there was learning and living, certainly in my personal life, and I hope for our world at large.
And even as it’s important to remember what isn’t good, right now I feel it’s rather important to also remember and note what is good. Below are a few snapshots of what went right in my little corner of the world.
And my wish:
May 2024 bring to our world a new kind of peace, a truer peace. Not just a truce, not a negotiated, temporary, fragile peace, but a deep peace, a lasting peace, a peace of respect, of hope and wonder.
